A Day To St. Nicholas` Park In Naoussa

This park was such a pleasant surprise. I didn`t know it existed till about a month ago when we visited it with the family to spend the day, or at least to stay for as long as our little one could stay. He loved it! Visiting the northern part of Greece this year and discovering new places with little George was so much fun.

St. Nicholas` park is in Naoussa, so it is really far away from Athens. Apparently, it is a highly visited touristic destination, with 1 million visitors per year and it is financed by the European Union, to protect and to manage it.

We had a great day at the park and we promised each other to come back again.

Thing to do at the park:

Apart from walking around all that green and enjoying the lake, you can visit the cafes and restaurants for fresh fish and other local mezes.

If you love sports, the park has a basketball field, a volleyball and a tennis court.

There is a beautiful playground and one or two kiosks with lots of treasures for kids.

You can visit the church of St. Nicholas`.

You may enjoy a picnic (I actually saw lots of families do that and I found the idea fantastic).

You can discover the park with a ride around it by taking the small train they have, (we did it and it was so much fun, little George loves trains already), or along with the beautiful horses.

You can call it a great summer day!!

Thank you so much for reading!!

Enjoy, Anthea.
